"My rating has always been "excellent" and now it's ‘basic.’  Why are you doing this to me?"  How do you effectively respond to a negative reaction from a staff member when they receive a lower performance rating than expected?  This course takes proven ideas from research and weaves them into practical activities that provide administrators with the tools needed to successfully consider educational equity and communicate with others in difficult situations. Since March of 2020 the way we communicate has shifted dramatically increasing tensions in negative conversations.  Administrators will learn how to proactively develop a climate of inclusivity that promotes feelings of trust, respect, and confidentiality.  They will also learn how to predict and deal with others’ difficult behavior.  In addition, multiple opportunities will be provided throughout the course for participants to practice using various questioning and listening strategies to resolve conflict and to prepare for…
